Né il y a cinq ans, sur la base d’une rencontre entre le répertoire des troubadours occitans et celui des aşiks turcs, Forabandit publie aujourd’hui « Port », un deuxième album confirmant et enrichissant son esthétique, tirant profit de la relation dynamique et épanouie entre Sam Karpienia (chant occitan, mandole), Ulaş Özdemir (chant turc, saz) et Bijan Chemirani (percussions)… Devenu auteur de ses propres textes, Forabandit versifie l’amour et l’exil pour faire rimer les ports d’Istanbul et de Marseille, à travers une dizaine de pièces où se mêlent vécu et imaginaire …

Set up five years ago as the outcome of a project bringing together the repertoires of Occitan troubadours and Turkish aşiks, the trio Forabandit is now releasing their second album, entitled « Port ». Forbandit’s remarkable and identifiable aesthetics has asserted and enriched itself, drawing from the dynamic, fulfilling relationship between Sam Karpienia (Occitan song, mandole), Ulaş Özdemir (Turkish song, saz) and Bijan Chemirani (percussion). Now the authors of their own lyrics, Forabandit versify love and exile, making the ports of Istanbul and Marseille rhyme in ten pieces that blend the imagination and real-life experience of the trio members.
