Résumé

Yves Rouquette was born in Sète in 1936, and since 1965 he has lived in Béziers, the town where thousands of men, women and children were massacred by French Crusaders in 1209.
As a poet and author, he is one of the best writers today in Occitan, the Romance tongue of southern France which is similar to Catalan.
He recalls the story of the Cathars, the heretics also known as Albigensians, and the towns and villages of the holy war waged against them.
Through his contacts with historians and poets, he finds his own Christian faith coming close to that of the Cathars. This is a highly personal journey across time and space to a tolerant culture that invented the words amour and troubadour.
